The Roosevelt Art Center by Okumo is an interesting proposal for an existing park. The current features form the core of the design, with the new functions weaving throughout the interstitial spaces as pod-like forms floating above the park. The design incorporates areas for residences and studios, performing arts, and fine arts exhibition all while providing viewing and contemplation areas, in order for the inhabitants and visitors to feel more connected to their environment. Its a very ambitious project, with a great deal of program to contain... I'm not completely sold on the design, but the images are certainly compelling.
